Pastor Jaime Kowlessar
Dr. Jaime Kowlessar began his ministry at City Temple as the Youth and Young Adult Pastor in 2013, and was officially called to serve as Senior Pastor in 2016. After completing his undergraduate studies in theology at Atlantic Union College (2003), as well as his Masters of Divinity at Andrews University (2006), Dr. Kowlessar spent the first six years of his ministry in his native New York City, and during this time he was ordained as a minister of the gospel. Then relocating to Dallas, Dr. Kowlessar completed and obtained his Doctorate of Ministry from the United Theological Seminary in May 2017. As pastor of City Temple, Dr. Kowlessar has relentlessly pursued community activism and involvement, challenging the church to heed the call of Christ to be relevant and present in the lives of those in need. He has led those efforts by joining with community and local church leaders to implement strategies that improve the economic, educational and spiritual conditions in the Cedar Crest community. In addition to being a family man and a New York Knicks fan, he is a true student of the Word, and his passion for ministry is entwined with his pursuit of social justice as well as his astuteness in modern culture.
Dr. Kowlessar has been married to the love of his life, Carlene, since 2008, and together they have two daughters, Katelynn and Amber.
Pastor S. Eliot Brooks III
Born in Greenville, SC, Pastor S. Eliot Brooks III began his ministry at City Temple on May 27, 2017. A graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL, he accepted a call to the Southwest Region Conference officially August 1, 2015. Prior to joining City Temple, Pastor Brooks served as the district Senior Pastor of the Caffin Avenue International and New Orleans East churches in New Orleans, LA. Pastor Brooks has a passion for young adults and engaging the church within the community. He aims for his ministry to exemplify three characteristics: to be simple, practical, and relevant. Along with ministry, Pastor Brooks is a songwriter, and can often be found on the basketball court or cheering his Carolina Panthers. Ultimately, he wants people to know that following Jesus does not have to result in a dull, hypocritical, or meaningless lifestyle, but it is an exciting and exuberant life to know who you are in Christ.
Pastor Brooks is married to Takisha Brooks, and they have a son, Noel, and a daughter, Nyla.
