Seventh-day Adventist designate this month as Women's Emphasis Month.

This month we celebrate National Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, National Mental Health Month, National Older American's Month, National Physical Fitness and Sports Month, National Senior Citizen's Month, National Women's Healthcare Month, National Peace of Mind Month, Teen Pregnancy Prevention Month, and Young Achiever's Month.

This month celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week and National Music Week (5/6-12); Reading is Fun Week (5/12-18); Mother's Day (5/11); National Police Week (5/13-19); National Running & Fitness Week (5/16-22); and National New Friends Old Friends Week (5/18-25). This month also hosts Relationship Renewal Day (5/4); National Teacher's Day (5/6); National Day of Prayer (5/8); and Annual National Senior Health and Fitness Day (5/28).
